Six Seasons Online
A year of earth-based wisdom, seasonal ritual,
and movement medicine.
Registration closes Sept.22nd 2024
Practices, remedies, rituals, and reflections
inspired by the natural world.
Our ancestors and the world's great wisdom traditions understood that each phase of the year is unique and offers us special 'medicine.' I invite you to join us for this one-of-a-kind year-long program, where we'll tap into the power of the seasonal tides that shape the calendar year.
For this program, I've divided the year into six medicinal seasons to guide our journey. These seasons weave together the calendars of many ancient traditions, including the Celtic and Pagan wheel of time, the lunar calendar used in Chinese Medicine and Taoism, and the six Ayurvedic seasonal junctures (ritus). .
Throughout this program, we'll delve into how to work with and harness each season's unique energy for greater insight and healing. My goal for this program is to provide you with meaningful and unique ways to deepen your understanding of, and relationship with, the natural cycles of time. This work is deeply personal to me, as it stems from my own evolution and extensive study and practice of holistic medicine and movement. We'll explore a variety of earth-based rituals and reflections, embodiment practices like yoga and meditation, seasonal food and cooking, home herbal medicines, and more, all with the aim of inspiring your personal growth.
This program is for everyone - you don't need any special experience - all are welcome.
Please join me for this special course and deepen your connection to the six magical seasons.
P.S - This course is completely unique! If you've taken other seasonal courses with me - this course covers new lessons, topics, practices, and handouts.
This program has 6 modules spread throughout the year:
Autumn Slowing
This module begins at the fall equinox, a time of equal light and darkness. We'll also explore earth-based traditions surrounding Samhain (Oct.31st). In Eastern systems like Taoism and Ayurveda, this is the time of metal, air, and ether. It's a time to let go and surrender. We'll explore practices, inquiries, rituals, and remedies to support our descent into the darker seasons to come.
Winter Retreat
For this module, we explore rituals around winter solstice and Yule (Dec.21st) and the power of the water element in eastern systems like Taoism and Ayurveda. This is the season when we can access our deep potency and nourish bone and nerve tissue most effectively. We'll explore somatic and restorative practices, self-led inquiries, and herbal remedies to support rejuvenation and rest at the deepest level.
Early Spring Stirring
This is a relatively short season, marking the obvious changes occurring as the days get a little longer. In this module, we'll focus on the natural energies surrounding the earth-based holiday of Imbolc (Feb.1st). According to Eastern systems, early spring is a time of rising Qi/Prana but also stagnancy—we'll use foods, movement, rituals, and remedies to support good flow in body and mind.
Spring Renewal
We start this module with the spring equinox. The light is now returning - we'll honour renewal by celebrating the earth-based holiday Beltane (May 1st). Spring is a time of cleansing, growth, and creativity in Eastern systems. We'll support the liver's natural cleansing capabilities and use our practices and inquiries to nourish rasa - the life-giving juice of the body, according to Ayurveda.
Mid-Summer Thrive
During this season, we celebrate the summer solstice and the earth-based holiday Litha (June 24th). Mid-summer brings joy and connection—we'll use rituals and remedies to honour this light and playful energy. We'll also explore food as medicine, herbal allies, and movement practices to temper and support fire and tejas in the body and mind.
Late Summer Harvest
In this final module, we will guide our journey using the harvest festival of Lughasadha or Lammas (Aug.1st). The natural world is abundant right now! With all of this plentiful food from the earth, it's time to ensure that our digestion is strong and our minds are balanced. We'll use our practices and rituals to honour the earth and our place in it.
ALL 6 SEASONS INCLUDE:
- Access to an exclusive online portal which contains all of the course materials.
- MULTIPLE GUIDED VIDEOS - outlining my reflections on the energy and teachings of the season. We'll draw on the pagan and pre-Christian earth-based traditions of Europe, Ayurveda, Yoga, Chinese Medicine, and Taoism to guide our exploration.
- YOGA, MEDITATION, SOMATIC MOVEMENT, and BREATHING VIDEO CLASSES - Movement classes are appropriate for all levels and include slow somatic work, yin yoga, restorative yoga, mindfulness, and active standing poses.
