Medicine and Movement with Jennifer Raye
In this series of live online classes, we'll explore a variety of embodiment practices focused on tapping into and supporting the intelligence of the cranial sacral fluid. During each class, we'll support the physical and energetic function of this inner vitality through therapeutic somatic movements, yoga postures (restorative, dynamic, and yin yoga), meditation, imagery, marma and acupressure, and breath work.
Sign up and receive three live online movement and meditation classes (each class is two hours and includes a talk and practice session—replays are provided). This immersion is open to all levels.
I look forward to sharing these healing practices with you,
In our opening class we'll move with the subtle tides of our inner landscape guided by the cranial sacral rhythm — the gentle, wave-like motion of cerebrospinal fluid that nourishes the brain and spinal cord. Through fluid, spacious asanas and long-held poses, we'll gently open the connective tissues, release tension around the spine, and sense into the "breath of life" — the subtle ebb and flow within — allowing it to guide our movement and stillness.
In this immersion we'll support, stabilize, and awaken the sacrum — the keystone of the lower back and a sacred bridge between the upper and lower body. The sacrum is more than a structural bone; it's an energetic gateway to the spine. Through a combination of fluid movement, somatic awareness, and targeted postures, we'll explore the watery realm of the sacred sacrum. Leave feeling anchored, spacious, and subtly aligned from the inside out. .
The cranium, protector of the brain and gateway to the senses, is a vital center of perception, intuition, and inner balance. This practice will ease restrictions around the skull, jaw, and cervical spine in service of awakening the very subtle cranial pulse. By combining slow movement, supported postures, breathwork, and guided awareness we'll invite a softening of mental activity and a return to spaciousness within.
